Map, "Routes operated by the Interborough Rapid Transit Company, Thomas E. Murray, Receiver" April 1, 1939. Printed by George J. Nostrand

Reproduced from the collection of the New York Transit Museum.

To promote subway travel to the 1939 World's Fair, the IRT produced a map highlighting routes to the fairgrounds and special "free transfer points." This map was one of the last produced by the bankrupt but still independent company just before unification of the city subway system.
